New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….
The original story (published December 31, 2021) follows:
Call of Duty: Warzone is a popular online multiplayer Battle Royale game released last year. Successor to Black Ops Cold War, it is one of the few versions of Call of Duty to be playable for free.
Developed by Raven Software and published by Activision, Warzone players encounter new problems every few days thanks to developers releasing new content.
Unsurprisingly, Warzone players are now saying the game crashes or freezes on their Xbox after the recent Pacific update. Many say they are sent back to the home screen or dashboard every time it crashes.
This is a very serious problem since it affecting every game mode and completely blocks Xbox users from playing the game.
Users reported trying generic troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling and restarting the console, but Warzone Pacific is still crashing on their Xbox. Interestingly, the same issue was reported on PS5 a few days ago.
So every time we try to start a game, my friends game resets. Whole game warzone pacific. When he logs into my account, it allows him to play from his Xbox. When I log into his account, it crashes. When I go back to mine it works fine. What could be the issue with his Warzone account causing the game to crash and how can we fix it?
So, can someone tell me why War Zone is crashing my brand new Xbox Series X? The new halo does too. Clicking on the game from the Xbox home screen freezes. I just got my hands on this xbox at target and sold my old xbox ones which had minor glitch issues compared to this. I can’t even get into the game. This problem needs to be fixed or I’m fixing to sell and ride a PS5!!!
Turns out Raven Software seems to be aware of the issue where Warzone players can’t connect if they don’t have an Xbox Live Gold membership.
A card on their Trello board indicates that the issue started on December 16 and is currently being investigated.
Luckily, we’ve found a bunch of workarounds that seem to help those who are having crashing and freezing issues with the Xbox version of Warzone Pacific.
Another workaround that might help involves erase local save data and restart the console. If you don’t know how to do it, you can watch the video below to learn more.
Last but not least, it seems that the Nvidia Low Latency setting is causing the game to crash for some. Disabling the toggle is portion some Warzone Pacific players to play the game normally.
Nonetheless, we’ll keep an eye out if and when a fix is released and update this space accordingly. In the meantime, you can check out our dedicated COD bug tracker to see what issues are affecting Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Vanguard players.
